Turn colors into a website theme
A good handoff describes roles and constraints, not just a list of attractive values.
Name roles rather than screenshots
Background, foreground, surface and primary action describe how a color is used. Stable roles let your implementation change later while keeping its intent readable.
Prepare light and dark deliberately
A dark theme is not a simple inversion. Choose appropriate surfaces and text, then measure the actual pairs. Check your borders and states as well as body copy.
Export for your implementation
CSS variables work in most custom frontends. Tailwind v4 uses @theme variables; older Tailwind setups need a different configuration shape. JSON may require a design-tool importer.
Connect the tools honestly
Copy a theme handoff to a project brief or compatible coding tool. Apply and review the exported values in your own website. The color workspace does not automatically update your live project, CMS content or Forms settings.
